Valley Rescue

student project

Project
Branding and web development

Challenge
Build a modern website layout that highlights animals and teaches clients about animal population, proper pet care, and promote announcements/notices with local veterinary clinics.

Most shelter/rescue websites are typically very cluttered-looking. Many have very playful/young typefaces that can be hard to read, low-contrast colours, and no set colour theme. This creates a poorer user experience.

Solution
As a result, I have used a strong, minimal colour palette, cohesive style/feel, concise/spaced content, high-contrast text/background, and high quality photos. I also focused on making the navigation easier to use by limiting the number of pages available, and to have all available pages visible at the same time (as opposed to cascade-style pages).

Target Audience is young families and couples, as well as seniors and empty-nesters.
